MatchBridge works to facilitate youth employment and to support a continuum of advancement in the workplace. Erica Evans, a MatchBridge jobseeker, is an example of this succession. From an entry level job where she was able to get a sense of professional responsibilities to a better paid position with full benefits that tests her abilities more thoroughly, Erica is now on a track towards fulfilling her career goals.
Erica came to MatchBridge in September 2006 through a partnered organization, the Mayor’s Youth Education and Employment Program (MYEEP), which trains and places young San Franciscans at non-profit organizations throughout the city. She was screened and admitted into our program before receiving a referral to a Levi’s Sales Associate Position. Levi’s saw the potential in Erica and quickly hired her.

Erica worked at Levi’s for nine months until she received a notification from MatchBridge about a Front Desk Personnel opportunity at The Towers at Embarcadero South, a luxury condominium complex. Erica’s potential was once again recognized instantly and she was hired without hesitation. Although Erica was sad to see her time at Levi’s draw to a close, she had decided that it was time for her to move on with her career. “I enjoyed my time at Levi’s. It was a great place to work. The only reason I am leaving is because it’s time to take that next step,” Erica said.
Erica’s next step was to represent The Towers with pride providing front desk services to tenants and visitors. Her goals were to get to know and establish strong relationships with the residents and make them feel at home. She exceeded her own expectations and the expectations of The Towers management. “Erica is a young, high-quality employee with great potential for advancement,” said Grace Romero, Hiring Manager for The Towers.
