Real Estate for Tomorrow’s Adults (RE4TA)

A partnership between MatchBridge, United Way of the Bay Area and the real estate industry, Real Estate for Tomorrow’s Adults (RE4TA) was launched in 2008. Its establishment was made possible by the Founder’s Circle, including Sunset Development Co., Prologis (formerly AMB Property Corp.), BRE Properties, TMG Partners, Metlife Real Estate Investments, Webcor Builders, UDR and Sares Regis Group. Going into its 5th year, the program has grown to 40 internship opportunities with over 20 employer partners.

The jobseekers are pre-screened before placement with host sites and MatchBridge has created a supplementary curriculum to both expose the interns to the real estate sector as well as build on their career paths. Workshops teach participants about the industry as well as skills related to their job search. In the workplace, interns are able to hone their skills in data entry, reception, and basic office tasks as well as learn about industry-specific processes such as the steps involved in purchasing a property. Over the years, several interns have proved themselves so valuable to their host companies that they have been hired on or invited to extend their internship beyond the summer.
