Matt Poland

Matthew Poland is MatchBridge’s director. Matt has worked with both youth and adults throughout his career, beginning in Michigan, where he helped court-adjudicated youth learn healthy values and adaptive social skills.

He has been providing career counseling and job placement services in the San Francisco community for over seven years, including training job seekers on the best ways to present themselves to employers, as well as educating employers on the value of diversity in their workforce.

Matt has provided training to other employment service professionals through the JVS BEST Pro program and served on a City task force with the goal of increasing employment of people with disabilities in the City’s workforce. In his last job he led the PEP Jobs Program at California Pacific Medical Center, an employment services program for people with epilepsy and brain injuries Matt helped to design and build.

Matt is an active member of the Bay Area Coalition for Employment Development (BACED) and was a key organizer for the 2010 Workforce Development Summit (www.workdevsummit.org) held in San Francisco. The Summit aims to bring the employment services community together across the Bay Area to help all of those who are struggling the most in this difficult economy. In his personal life, Matt enjoys going to local music shows and playing disc golf in Golden Gate Park.
